My friend Kristen's husband Matt Maurel, a local actor, was on this week's episode of Memphis Beat! He "died" in the episode, so being the awesome, creative and fun person she is, she threw him a surprise viewing party at her Baton Rouge home with all of their friends! She invited all of their friends, printed out all the movie posters from films Matt has been in, and had fake head shots available for him to sign! She said the head shots were such a huge hit that they ran out! She also decorated with cops/robbers and murder stuff!
She made VIP passes and forced everyone to wear them!
They traced a friend in chalk (then accessorized with glasses and a fake foot)! This was at the end of the red carpet (up the driveway) and it pointed to the party. Then a star on the door with his name!
There were cards to label the food, for example the cupcakes were done with gold flecks (Hollywood) but they were red velvet to look like blood so they were labeled "Bloody Cupcakes" - There were also Murderous meats, Deadly dips, Imprisoned popcorn, Bloody marys, Mystery martinis & Red wine in which there were little cop/robber/badges/magnifying glass/etc. charms for each glass so each one was different.
