A Petit Four is a small confection, most commonly small cakes, generally eaten at the end of a meal (e.g., with coffee) or served as part of dessert. The name is from the French petit four, meaning "small oven". These tiny, beautifully iced cakes are traditionally made with an almond sponge cake, but they can be any flavor of cake and/or filling. They are so cute for showers and baby's birthday parties! The best I find are usually in hotels like The Drake Hotel in Chicago and the Hilton in Baton Rouge, however Ambrosia Bakery in Baton Rouge makes some really delicious ones! Happy Wednesday! xoxo, Julie
